Prof. Ji Yinglin was invited by Childhood Bilingualism Research Centre of Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to present her study on “Linguistic and conceptual representations of motion in English and Chinese” in a linguistic seminar held in CUHK on 5 May 2015. The presentation deals with motion events from the two levels of linguistic encoding and psychological implication, especially the different representations of caused motion events in language learners of different languages. The presentation was well received by CUHK colleagues and students. In the Q & A session, Prof. Ji had close interaction and intensive discussion with the audience. The seminar ended in great success. The Childhood Bilingualism Research Centre at CUHK will collaborate with the Research Centre for Language and Cognition at Shenzhen University in various forms, and closer academic exchange and collaboration will be fostered between the two institutions in the future.
