Description:  

The Research Centre for Language and Cognition, Shenzhen University invites applications for one post of Lecturer / Associate professor specialising in cognitive linguistics, particularly the relationship between language and cognition in general.  

 

Qualifications and responsibilities:  

(1) Doctorate in linguistics or other appropriate areas (priority will be given to candidates who have at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience and/or faculty experience in overseas research institutions);  

(2) A strong record of publication (priority will be given to candidates who have published at least 2 articles on SSCI journals);  

(3) A strong record of obtaining external funding in support of one’s research endeavors;  

(4) Successful candidates will conduct research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses (English-major), advise and direct student theses, and engage in professional and collegiate service activities;  

 

Salary is competitive and negotiable, depending upon rank and qualifications.  

 

Shenzhen University (SZU) was founded as a public university in 1983 with the accreditation of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and has undergone rapid growth and expansion in the past three decades just like the city of Shenzhen, China’s most successful Special Economic Zone.

The appointment is expected to start no later than September 1st, 2016, or any other date on a mutually agreed basis.
