To celebrate the first anniversary of the Research Centre for Language and Cognition at Shenzhen University, Prof. Ji Yinglin published her new book ‘Representing Motion in Language and Cognition’ (China Social Sciences Press, ISBN：9787516164952). This book features eight frontier articles abroad in the research field of spatial language and cognition. They center around the systematic relation between language and cognition from the perspectives of language typology, first and second language acquisition, psycholinguistics and so on. The contributors include internationally renowned experts on cognitive linguistics, as well as middle-aged and young leading scholars in the field of language and cognition. Many of them are on our centre’s advisory board. This book has a total of 98,000 words. Prof. Ji Yinglin wrote the foreword and introduction entitled “Language structure and spatial cognition: an interdisciplinary view”.
