The research theme mainly include the following directions:

1)  MRI, CT and XCR based brain, lung image analysis

Apply machine learning algorithms like CNN, boosting etc. to detect tumors and lung nodules in the images captured using MRI, CT and XCR, develop applicable computer-aided-diagonosis systems.

2) Cell classification and tracking

Develop indirect  immunofluorescence images based HEp-2 cell classification systems using BOW, CNN techniques, try to identify the small training set problem for CNN based classification framework and improve the HEp-2 classification performance.

Develop accurate and efficient cell tracking algorithms.
