Abstract:

Noble metal nanoparticles possess an interesting property called local surface plasmon resonance. The luminescence enhancement occurs when fluorophores approach to the metal surface. In addition, the two-photon photoluminescence (TPPL) of metal nanoparticles also can be enhanced by metal nanoparticles. TPPL has various applications in bioimaging, biosensing and phototherapy due to their unique advantages such as deep penetration and low background. Here, various metal and metal-based nanostructures were prepared to study the plasmon-enhanced two-photon excitation photoluminescence phenomena. Besides, their potentials of acting as cancer cells and bacteria imaging agents, detection probes and phototherapyagents were further explored.

Curriculum Vitae:

Yuan Peiyan, obtained her Bachelor Degree on Applied Chemistry from Sun Yat-sen University. Then she pursued her Doctor of Philosophy Degree and continued her research as a research fellow in National University of Singapore. During her PhD and postdoc period, her research focused on “Nanostructures with plasmon-enhanced two-photon photoluminescence: preparation, optical properties and biological applications”. She has published more than 15 papers as coauthor on different journals, such as JACS, Nanoscale, ACS Applied Materials Interfaces, Advanced Healthcare Material.
